Considering Refinance?
Today's competitive home lending market makes refinancing much easier than in the past and could bring you substantial savings and benefits. Many of us have had the same loan with the same lender for many years. How do we know if we are getting value for our hard earned dollar?
Switching loans or lenders or both could be the answer. However, we need to assess if we are likely to benefit from refinancing by asking ourselves, or the lender of our choice, some important questions as follows:
- Is the interest rate competitive?
- Am I paying too many bank fees?
- What are the costs involved with refinancing my loan?
- Will the savings I expect to achieve by refinancing be to my benefit in the long term?
- Am I happy with my current lender?
- Do the features of the loan meet my current needs?
Refinancing can take time and cost money so be clear about why you want to refinance.
Decide on the type of loan that suits your circumstances best and do the sums to ensure the refinance will benefit you in the long term.
How does refinancing work?
You take out a new loan and use all or part of the funds to payout your existing loan. The new loan can be provided by your existing lender or a different lender.
