Belinda Henry

Director

Belinda has been on the Board since June 2011 and is a member of the Risk and Audit Committees.

Having lived in the Tweed her entire life, Belinda is dedicated to ensure that we, as a local, community based and owned banking institution, continue to support our community organisations, our customers and our local businesses by delivering an exceptional customer banking experience.

Belinda holds a Bachelor of Laws, has practiced as a lawyer in the Tweed for the past 14 years, and is the managing partner of a successful law firm in the Tweed. Belinda brings her legal skills and expertise to the board in ensuring effective prudential management and governance.

Belinda was awarded Business Woman of the Year at the 2016 Tweed Coast Women’s Awards.

Jeremy Rutledge

Director

Jeremy is a Director of Southern Cross Credit Union since November 2021.

Jeremy is also a property & business valuation specialist (Certified Practicing Valuer, registered in NSW & QLD) and has been advising Authorised Deposit-taking Institutions for over 25 years holding a Bachelor of Business (Property) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment. He is the Director of a successful valuation practice, servicing local and national organisations, bringing a broad range of financial & property industry skills to the SCCU board.

Jeremy is also an Affiliate Member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors having led a team of quantity surveyors over the past 15 years.

Jeremy has been a resident of the Far North Coast for over 15 years, having a deep understanding of the connection that people have with property and is committed to improving their customer owned banking experience.

Suzie Slingsby

Director | Chair, Risk Committee

Suzie’s background is as a payments specialist with over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry having held Regional Director, General Manager and Senior Executive roles with industry leaders such as Thomas Cook, Travelex and MasterCard. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has brought her wealth of industry experience to Southern Cross Credit Union.

Having been actively involved as a volunteer in community programs such as Friends with Dignity for many years, she is a passionate advocate of community based banking and understands how it provides both superior service levels and other benefits that encourage the connection and growth of the local communities in which they operate.

Suzie has served as Chair of the Risk Committee since November 2020 and is also a member of the Audit Committee.

Pat McIntosh

Director | Chair, Audit Committee

Pat McIntosh was born and raised in the Lockyer Valley, Queensland, and educated at Downlands College, Toowoomba.

Pat served 27 years in the Australian Army in senior command roles, including overseas service with the British Army and the UN in Rwanda. After retiring in 2002, he ran a financial planning business before joining the RSL Care Board in 2010. He became Chair in 2012 of Bolton Clarke, Altura Learning, and RDNS operations in New Zealand and Hong Kong.

Pat has extensive experience in leadership, management, finance, training and strategic planning. He has degrees in personnel management and accounting. His post graduate qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Management and a Master of Business Administration.

Pat was awarded a Distinguished Service Cross (DSC) for service in command of the Australian Medical Support Force in Rwanda and was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in 2002.

Appointed to SCCU’s Board in 2021, Pat chairs the Audit Committee and sits on the Risk Committee.

Alvaro Lozano

Chairperson

Alvaro was first appointed to the Board as a Director in February 2017 and was subsequently appointed the position of Chairperson in November 2021. Alvaro is also a member of both the Risk and Audit Committees.

Having been a resident of the Far North Coast for over 16 years, Alvaro has been involved in senior management positions both in government and private enterprise. Alvaro is founder and Managing Director of local Information Security company Pracsec, recently awarded Top 10 Cyber Security Startup of Asia Pacific in 2020.

Alvaro joined the board as a contributor to strategy and decision making with a focus on ensuring SCCU customers are provided extraordinary value through a modern, efficient, friendly and secure customer banking experience.
