Cyclone Alfred: Be Safe

Our customers are at the core of everything we do, we would like to assist in any way we can  to help ensure your safety. Let’s get prepared!

Stay connected

Make sure you remain connected to those close to you, whether your family, friends or neighbours. Maintain your mobile phone and portable batterie pack fully charged and keep emergency contacts at reach. In case of power outage, this will be invaluable.

Protect what is important

Stay away from windows and keep curtains/blinds closed, they can help protect from broken glass.  If possible, bring your pets inside and make sure you have enough food and water. Talk to kids about what is happening and explain how well prepared you are, so they feel safe. Protect your important documents in a sealed container in case of floodings and have a travel pack in case you need to leave your home.

Brace for the challenge

Heavy rain, flooding and strong winds are expected for the next days. In case of flooding, disconnect your appliances. Secure your outdoor items such as furniture, plants and other objects that may become hazardous. Have a gas cooker to prepare meals, candles, matches and torch in case the power goes out. Fill up bottles and containers with filtered water and freeze them to serve both to keep food fresh and to drink once melted.
