Easy Access Offset Feature

Easy Access Offset Feature

Pay less in interest on your Home Loan with our Easy Access transaction account offset feature, ultimately reducing the amount of interest you pay to help you own your home sooner.

When you link your Easy Access account to your Home Loan account*, the full balance across your Easy Access accounts will offset the amount you owe on your home loan.

For example, if you owe $350,000 on your home loan and hold $10,000 in your Easy Access transaction account for the full month, the interest calculated on your Home Loan will be on $340,000 instead, saving you money.

At the same time, the balance in your Easy Access transaction account is freely available for you to use, just like any other everyday account. Interest is calculated daily and charged at the end of the month, so even if you hold extra money for a few days instead of the whole month, it will still make a difference.

Fast Payments with Osko

Fast Payments with Osko

Fast Payments are available for any single transaction made via our NetBanking or mobile app.

To make and receive fast payments, select the Osko or New Payment Platform (NPP) option as your payment type before completing your transaction. You’ll know your money has been scheduled to be sent in most cases instantly if you see the Osko logo on the type of transaction selected when doing your bank transfer. Otherwise, your payment will be processed in our standard processing times.

Fast payments only work if the receiving financial institution is also registered with the NPP and Osko to have the technical capability to process payments fast. However, these limitations do not apply for receiving funds.

When making fast payments via Osko, it is crucial that you remain mindful and attentive to details when paying someone, so you can keep your funds safe. Once you make the payment the chances of recovery are very limited. So be extra careful to make sure the detail of the intended recipient is correct.

Set Up your PayID

Set Up your PayID

Part of our fast payments solution, PayID is a simpler alternative to a BSB and Account number. It lets you send and receive money using a mobile number, email address, ABN or Organisation Identifier. Ideal for those who want to save time, make and receive fast payments via Osko using an easier-to-remember option for account identification.

When you send money to a PayID, you will see the name of the person or business you are paying before you complete the payment. This can help reduce mistaken or scam payments.

Setting up your PayID is quick and easy. All you need to do is create your PayID via our NetBanking or mobile app using a mobile number or email address that’s registered to your bank account.

After you create your PayID, you can tell payers to make fast payments to your PayID instead of giving out your account details.

What is Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is a digital wallet from Apple which lets you use a compatible iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac or iPad to make secure contactless purchases in stores, within selected apps and participating websites in Safari, on your SCCU card.

What is Google Pay?

Google Pay is a free app that allows you to pay with your SCCU Visa Debit with a tap of your phone while enjoying the same benefits and protection of your physical card. You can use Google Pay almost anywhere contactless payments are accepted.

  • What is a transaction account? Is it an interest-earning account?

    A transaction account, also known as an everyday account, is a type of bank account designed for managing day-to-day finances and everyday spending. It allows for frequent deposits such as your wages, and withdrawals such as paying bills and making purchases with a visa debit card, using ATMs, and online banking.

    Our Easy Access transaction account is not an interest-earning account. However, if you are 50 years and over, our  Easy Access 50+  interest-earning transaction account might be a good fit for you.

    For interest-earning, you can also open our Star Saver savings account and link it to your Easy Access transaction account.

  • Is there a minimum deposit to open a transaction account?

    There is no minimum balance requirement when you open an Easy Access account with us, your trusted community-focused financial institution.

  • Can I link my transaction account to other accounts, or to my mortgage as an offset?

    Yes, when you open a Star Saver you must link it to your Easy Access account to manage your savings.

    You can also have up to 8 Easy Access accounts and use any number of these to offset your Home Loan helping you save on interest. The offset feature is free of charge and only available on our Home Loan products.

  • How many transaction accounts can I have?

    You can have up to 8 Easy Access transaction accounts.
    Often multiple accounts are used for budgeting, with dedicated accounts for different purposes such as one for paying bills and another for savings, for example.

    You can also use up to 8 accounts to offset your Home Loan and to help save on the amount in interest you pay on your mortgage.

    Once you open your first account with us, you can open additional transaction accounts via your NetBanking.

  • Are there any fees associated with the Easy Access transaction account?

    Yes, there can be fees associated with our Easy Access transaction account but there are ways to avoid these fees as listed in the disclaimers.

  • What should I do if my debit card is lost or stolen?

    To quickly lock or cancel a lost or stolen card jump into your mobile app and go to your card setting. You can then order a new card through the app or call our Customer Service Centre at 1300 360 744, or visit your nearest Financial Service Centre.
