Chief Risk Officer
As Chief Risk Officer and a member of SCCU’s Executive Leadership Team, Simon leads the organisation’s risk, compliance, governance, internal audit, operational resilience and regulatory affairs functions. He plays a key role in ensuring SCCU remains resilient, well-governed and focused on delivering positive outcomes for customers and communities.
With more than 30 years of experience across banking and financial services, Simon brings extensive expertise in retail and business banking, lending, risk management and organisational leadership. Prior to joining SCCU in 2015, he held senior leadership positions with major financial institutions including Westpac and CUA.
Simon has helped strengthen SCCU’s governance framework and risk management capability while supporting sustainable growth. His broad experience across customer-facing, operational and risk functions allows him to balance commercial objectives, customer outcomes and prudent decision-making.

Working closely with the Board, Board Risk Committee and Board Audit Committee, Simon also maintains key relationships with industry regulators, including APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, AFCA and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
